New Books for August 2009

Dear Customers and Friends:

Here is our list of new titles we've added to our catalog in the past month.

The San Francisco Antique Rug and Textile Show is being held this month from October 15-26 month at the Motel Capri. There are going to be over 40 dealers from all over the world with nearly 2,000 rugs and textiles on display and for sale. In addition the San Francisco Bay Area Rug Society is sponsoring a visit to the Occidental Carpet Palace and Gardens of Bay Area collector Jim Dixon on October 21st that is not to be missed. There will also be a Belouch show at the gallery of Peter Pap which I am looking forward to.

We are, of course, not bringing our entire 3,000 title inventory but if there is a specific book you want me to bring please email me before October 9th.

I have also added a few new rug and textile related DVDs to our video section and have added previews courtesy of YouTube so you can "try before you buy!"

Regards,
Wesley Marquand (wesley@rugbooks.com)

New Books for September 2009

Here is our list of new titles we've added to our catalog in the past month. We are still going through a treasure trove of books acquired from two important collections.

We are also looking forward to the San Francisco Antique Rug and Textile Show being held next month at the Motel Capri. The buzz has been good and it is looking like it will be the most successful dealer sponsored rug and textile fair to date. There was a small write-up in Hali 160 which can be found here.

130 New Rug and Textile Books

This past month we were able to acquire two major collections and whether your interests lie in Pre-Columbian textiles or Classical Persian carpets we have something for everyone on this list. We are even offering a pamphlet featuring an inscribed textile woven in an insane asylum!

The San Francisco Antique Rug and Textile Show is gaining steam and even adding a few new dealers as well as off-site exhibitions tied to the show. We are also pleased to be representing Jozan, one of the premier online sites dedicated to Oriental rugs and world textiles.
